2010's competition see the addition of an extra round added before the quarter finals. This was to compensate for the extreme amount of entrants we have in the competition and give a live round before the finals are selected. This is how they will work:

These live heats will consist of 40 bands, each performing 2 songs, back to back at Champions Live Music Venue in front of a panel of judges to win their place among the 20 who will go on to perform in the Quarter Finals...

These opening heats will be FREE ENTRY!
